We maintain monthly sanitisation program, weekly sanitisation of the waste room.We kindly ask your co-operation to help us maintain this space in the interest of your fellow residents as per local laws waste and recycle guidelines.

 

RED BINS GENERAL WASTE: ALL FOOD WASTE MUST BE DOUBLE BAGGED.

WHAT CAN GO INTO THE RED BIN.

  • YES – Nappies wrapped or bagged.
  • YES – Food waste must be double bagged.
  • YES – Polystyrene and foam (including meat trays)
  • YES – Plastic bags and soft plastic.
  • YES – Window glass, glassware, mirrors, Pyrex and crockery. (BAG IT)
  • YES – Vacuum dust dirt bagged it.
  • Ensure your red bin lid is always closed to prevent litter.

WHAT CAN’T GO INTO THE RED BIN

  • NO – Furniture or house hold items
  • NO – Garden waste – book a collection or take to theCitywide Transfer station
  • NO – Commercial quantities of food waste
  • NO – Building material including bricks, concrete and timber
  • NO – Liquid waste or ashes, NO Syringes
  • NO – Chemicals, paints, oils and solvents
  • NO – Car parts or motor oil
  • NO – Batteries or other electronic waste
  • NO – Waxed cardboard
  • NO – Unwrapped vacuum dust and polystyrene beads.

TIPS: Manage your waste in better ways to reduce food Odour.

  • Freeze your food waste like(like seafood) in a tub, drop off on Monday and Thursday mornings to bin room.
  • Council waste pick days for food waste is on Monday and Thursday @ noon.

YELLOW BINS: PLEASE PLACE RECYCLING LOOSE IN THE BIN. (DO NOT BAG)

WHAT CAN GO INTO THE RECYCLING BIN (YES)

  • YES – Flatten cardboard or boxes –
  • YES – Hard/rigid plastic bottles and containers
  • YES – Paper and cardboard including clean pizza boxes
  • YES – Aluminum cans, foil (scrunch into a ball) and trays
  • YES – Steel cans, Empty aerosol cans
  • YES – Glass bottles and jars (that have been containing food or drink)

Never put in plastic bags or tie up. Ensure your bin lid is closed to prevent litter.

WHAT CAN’T GO INTO THE YELLOW RECYCLING BIN (NO)

  • NO – Soft plastics (for example, food wrappers, plastic bags, chip packets).
  • NO – Bagged garbage or bagged recycling
  • NO – Long life milk or juice cartons
  • NO – Nappies or nappy wipes
  • NO – Expanded polystyrene and foam (including meat trays)
  • NO – Window glass, glassware, mirrors, Pyrex and crockery
  • NO – Food or garden waste
  • NO – Textiles and clothing in clothing bin only
  • NO – Batteries and electronic waste
  • NO – Waxed cardboard o Cling wrap, greasy cardboard 

ELECTRONIC-WASTE ACCEPTED

  • Computer equipment and accessories
  • Printers and photocopiers
  • Internet/network equipment such as servers
  • Printers, photocopiers and scanners
  • Household batteries
  • Landline phones and mobile phones
  • Electronic games and accessories
  • Cameras (all types), DVD and video players
  • Sound equipment such as speakers
  • Household electrical appliances such as vacuum cleaners, hairdryers, toasters, kettles and microwaves
  • Tools, Battery packs and rechargers.

ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED AS ELECTRONIC-WASTE BINS

  • NO – Smoke alarms
  • NO – Air conditioners
  • NO – Halogen lights
  • NO – ray equipment
  • NO – Chemicals
  • NO – Lithium batteries​
  • NO – Hazardous material and medical equipment
  • NO – Car and truck batteries
  • NO – HOUSE HOLD TRASH AND White goods
  • NO – Compact fluorescent tubes
  • NO – Fluorescent tubes
  • NO – Paint.
